Non-Surgical Care First
Looking for non-surgical pain treatment in Scottsdale? We consider conservative options before anything more involved. Injections, nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation can treat pain without surgery or long-term opioid use. Your provider explains the realistic benefits of each option.
Therapy and Movement in Your Plan
Lasting relief often takes more than one approach. Your plan may pair a procedure with physical therapy, a home exercise routine or coordination with your primary care doctor. This helps you build strength and stay active between visits.
Back to Your Day Sooner
Most injections and nerve procedures are done in the office, and many patients return home the same day. Recovery varies by procedure and health. Your provider will explain activity, driving and work guidance before you book.
When Should You See a Pain Specialist in Scottsdale?
Most aches settle with rest and time. Some pain, though, is a sign that it’s time for a specialist’s evaluation. These four signs are a good guide.
Pain Lasting More Than a Few Weeks
Back, neck or joint pain that hasn’t improved after several weeks of rest, stretching or over-the-counter care is worth checking. Long-lasting pain often has a specific cause that can be found and treated.
Pain That Travels or Tingles
Pain that shoots down an arm or leg, or comes with numbness, tingling or weakness, may mean a nerve is irritated. Conditions such as sciatica and herniated discs often show up this way.
Pain That Disrupts Sleep or Work
If pain wakes you at night, makes it hard to sit through a workday or keeps you from activities you enjoy, an evaluation can help you get back to your routine.
Treatments That Haven’t Helped
Tried physical therapy, medication or chiropractic care without lasting relief? A pain specialist can look at the problem from a different angle and explain options you may not have considered.
Sudden severe pain, loss of bladder or bowel control, or weakness after an injury needs emergency care. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

I'm going to say Dr. O is a miracle worker. I have two herniated discs in my neck and the pain was so severe, I had to roll out of bed some days. I went to see Dr. O and was scheduled for an injection in my neck. The first injection helped a little bit, but I was still in severe pain most days. Speaking to other people, it normally takes two injections so I went from my second injection with Dr. O. Oh, and by the way, he squeezed me in the very next day for the procedure. I have not felt this good in a very long time. I can actually sit in a chair without my neck throbbing from pain and I've even started taking better care of my vegetable garden in my yard. Like I said this man is a miracle worker. Love, love, love him and I highly recommend him. Oh, and all of his staff are extremely friendly, patient, and very empathetic to their patients.Posted on Google![]()

I have been a patient of Dr. Orhurhu for over a year and the care he has given me has been exceptional. I had a compound fracture of my L2 vertebrae in May 2024 and he performed a Kyphoplasty in his office with wonderful results. I still have issues with my back due to scoliosis and bulgeing discs that impinge on my spine. Dr.O suggested ablation therpy on my low back along with 4 epidural injections with 2 more to come this week. But I have great faith in Dr. Orhurhu that I will be improving under his excellent care and guidance.Posted on Google![]()

FAQ
Our Scottsdale pain team evaluates back pain, neck pain, sciatica, arthritis, herniated discs, spinal stenosis and nerve pain. If your symptoms suggest another cause, your provider will explain the next step.
It depends on your insurance plan. Some plans require a primary care referral before a specialist visit, while others don’t. Our team checks your plan’s rules when you request an appointment.
Options include epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, joint injections, nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulation and PRP. Many patients also follow a physical therapy or home exercise plan. Your provider recommends care after reviewing your diagnosis and history.
Non-surgical neck pain options include physical therapy, posture and activity changes, epidural injections, nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation. The best choice depends on whether the pain comes from a disc, a joint or an irritated nerve.
Interventional procedures target the specific nerve or joint causing pain, often without surgery. Some can also help confirm where pain starts. Many are done in the office with a short recovery. Results vary, and your provider will explain what to realistically expect.
Regenerative treatments such as PRP use components of your own blood to support healing in joints and soft tissue. Research on their effectiveness is still growing, and results vary by condition. Your provider can tell you whether PRP is a reasonable option for you.
Yes, our providers evaluate nerve-related pain, including burning, tingling or numbness in the hands, feet or legs. Treatment depends on the cause and may include nerve blocks, medication guidance or other options discussed at your visit.
Many Arizona health plans cover pain treatment when it is medically necessary. Some procedures need prior authorization or proof that conservative care was tried first. Our team verifies your benefits beforehand, though verification doesn’t guarantee payment.
Submit an appointment request online or call (+1) 623-462-9012. Our team will confirm your visit, check your coverage and let you know what to bring. Video consultations are available for eligible patients.
Bring a photo ID, your insurance card and a list of current medications. If you’ve had an MRI, X-ray or CT scan, bring the report or images. A short list of treatments you’ve already tried, such as physical therapy or injections, also helps your provider plan next steps.
