Conservative Options First
Not every vein needs a procedure. Compression stockings, regular movement and leg elevation can ease symptoms for some patients. When more is needed, non-surgical treatments such as sclerotherapy are usually the next step
Advanced Diagnostics
Your plan is built on a careful look at your veins and symptoms. Our vein specialists in East Stroudsburg use that evaluation to decide whether treatment is needed and which approach fits your veins best.
Recovery That Fits You
Most vein procedures are done in the office, and many patients walk the same day. Some wear compression stockings for a short time afterward. Your provider will explain your recovery plan before you book.
Signs a Vein Evaluation May Help
You don’t need a diagnosis before booking a vein evaluation in East Stroudsburg. These four signs are common reasons patients come in.
Visible Varicose or Spider Veins
Raised, twisted veins or clusters of fine spider veins may be cosmetic for some people. For others, they come with aching, itching or heaviness that’s worth checking.
Leg Swelling and Heaviness
Swelling or a heavy, tired feeling that builds after standing or sitting can be linked to venous insufficiency. An evaluation helps show whether your veins are involved.
Aching, Cramping or Leg Discomfort
Night cramps, throbbing or tenderness can have several causes. Your provider reviews your symptoms before assuming they’re vein-related.
Changes That Persist or Get Worse
Skin darkening near the ankles, sores that heal slowly or veins that keep spreading should be checked soon rather than waiting.

I'm going to say Dr. O is a miracle worker. I have two herniated discs in my neck and the pain was so severe, I had to roll out of bed some days. I went to see Dr. O and was scheduled for an injection in my neck. The first injection helped a little bit, but I was still in severe pain most days. Speaking to other people, it normally takes two injections so I went from my second injection with Dr. O. Oh, and by the way, he squeezed me in the very next day for the procedure. I have not felt this good in a very long time. I can actually sit in a chair without my neck throbbing from pain and I've even started taking better care of my vegetable garden in my yard. Like I said this man is a miracle worker. Love, love, love him and I highly recommend him. Oh, and all of his staff are extremely friendly, patient, and very empathetic to their patients.Posted on Google![]()

I have been a patient of Dr. Orhurhu for over a year and the care he has given me has been exceptional. I had a compound fracture of my L2 vertebrae in May 2024 and he performed a Kyphoplasty in his office with wonderful results. I still have issues with my back due to scoliosis and bulgeing discs that impinge on my spine. Dr.O suggested ablation therpy on my low back along with 4 epidural injections with 2 more to come this week. But I have great faith in Dr. Orhurhu that I will be improving under his excellent care and guidance.Posted on Google![]()

FAQ
Varicose veins are larger, raised and rope-like, and they can ache or feel heavy. Spider veins are small, flat veins close to the skin and are mostly a cosmetic concern. A vein evaluation shows which you have.
Varicose veins form when valves inside leg veins weaken and let blood pool. Risk factors include age, family history, pregnancy and long periods of standing or sitting. Common symptoms are aching, heaviness, swelling, itching and visible bulging veins.
Options include sclerotherapy, endovenous laser treatment, radiofrequency ablation, VenaSeal® and ambulatory phlebectomy. Your vein specialist recommends a treatment after evaluating your veins and symptoms.
Yes. Sclerotherapy, radiofrequency ablation, laser ablation and VenaSeal® are all non-surgical, office-based options. Conservative care such as compression stockings may also help some patients.
Yes. Sclerotherapy uses an injected solution to close spider veins and small varicose veins, which fade over the following weeks. Some people need more than one session.
Some vein conditions can progress, leading to more swelling, skin changes or slow-healing sores. Symptoms that persist or worsen are worth having evaluated sooner rather than later.
Benefits include a small entry point, no surgical incision and a quick return to walking for most patients. Possible side effects include bruising, tenderness, temporary numbness or, rarely, a blood clot. Your provider will review your personal risks before treatment.
Older surgical methods such as vein stripping remove veins through incisions and need more recovery time. Today, most vein problems are treated with non-surgical, office-based options such as ablation, VenaSeal® or sclerotherapy, which close the vein instead of removing it.
Radiofrequency and laser ablation use heat to close larger veins. VenaSeal® uses a medical adhesive with no heat. Sclerotherapy uses an injected solution and is a common method for treating spider veins and small varicose veins. Your specialist recommends the option that fits your veins.
Yes. Endovenous laser treatment uses a thin fiber placed inside a larger vein to seal it closed. It’s done in the office with local numbing, and most patients walk soon afterward.
Minimally invasive vein treatments close most treated veins and often ease aching, heaviness and swelling. Results vary from person to person, and some patients need follow-up care. Your provider will explain realistic expectations for your case.
Cost depends on the procedure, the number of veins treated and your insurance. Treatment for symptoms like pain or swelling is often covered, while cosmetic spider vein care is usually self-pay.
Many plans cover vein procedures when they are medically necessary. Some require prior authorization or a trial of compression stockings first. Our team verifies your benefits, though verification doesn’t guarantee payment.
Is the East Stroudsburg vein team accepting new patients?Experiences vary by patient and by the specific option discussed during your evaluation. Your provider can walk you through what to expect for any option considered for your case.
To request a first visit, submit an appointment request online or call (610) 936-8214. Our team will confirm the next available time and check your insurance.
Wear loose clothing so your legs can be examined easily. Bring a photo ID, insurance card, and list of current medications. Note when your symptoms started and what makes them better or worse.
Endovenous ablation is a minimally invasive treatment that closes a faulty vein from the inside using heat from a laser or radiofrequency catheter. Blood then reroutes through healthier veins. It’s usually done in the office with local numbing.
Vein conditions are treated by vein specialists, sometimes called phlebologists, or by vascular specialists. At MVM Health East Stroudsburg, physicians and nurse practitioners evaluate vein symptoms and recommend care based on your exam.
